Design story behind the product
It is the medal ceremony for the men’s 200-metre race at 1968 Mexican Olympics. Smith, Norman and Carlos are standing on the podium. As the American national anthem plays, Smith and Carlos bow their heads and raise their black-gloved fists. The pair wears black socks and no shoes, in memory of the black people who had been lynched. All three winners wear a badge on their jackets: the badge of the Olympic Project For Human Rights.
